Milesli, Huslocck and Milai, Thanks for the help! It is a concise article now. But it lacks an illustation...

source

The source is Van Zelm van Eldik, Ridderorden, Walburg pers 2003. Deel I blz. 486 e.v. In fact, Debretts peerage 1892 mentions a Lord Mayor of London as a Knight of the DUTCH order of the Oak Crown. 01:47, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Request: Add Robert A. Mandell

[edit]

Hello, editors. I'm submitting this request as part of my work for Beutler Ink, on behalf of Robert A. Mandell. Because I have a financial conflict of interest, which I've declared here on and on my User page, I will not make direct changes to the article.

Let me know if you have any questions. Cheers, BINK Robin (talk) 21:28, 19 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I see in the source that he was inducted into the order, but not at what rank. The source in his page is a dead link, so if it contains the rank I cannot confirm it. (I also don't love that source since it's by an organization he's professionally affiliated with, but I'd accept it). Rusalkii (talk) 02:13, 20 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Rusalkii: I'm fine with putting him in the "unknown class" section. I had a look around on Luxembourg's government website and did not locate a list of honorees, and could not locate an archived copy of the source cited in his article to confirm the "commander" claim specifically. But even with the CNAS source, he'd be the only recipient in this article with an inline citation. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for taking a look! checkmark Go ahead feel free to add him under the "Unknown section".
For articles such as these, where there's a list with some clear criteria linking out to another article, I think it's usually fine to rely on sourcing within the linked article as long as that sourcing actually exists. (...I am trying to find where I read this policy and now can't find it and am concerned I'm misremembering something). Rusalkii (talk) 22:23, 20 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Rusalkii: Okay, I've made the edit. You can see the diff here. Also, I really empathize with recalling reading some policy or guideline on Wikipedia, but not where, on a deep level. Happens to me all the time. Thanks again! BINK Robin (talk) 22:57, 20 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
