I am a Wikipedia:administrator since July 5, 2004. I first contributed to Wikipedia in April of 2001 (oldest edits lost in early software upgrades). My first edit with my username appears to be on April 26. I have been active on a number of online projects - active and passive (SETI@Home, Distributed Proofreaders, Mars crater labeling, Stardust@Home, Folding@Home on the Wikipedia team: Team page, etc.)

Reason: A user keeps amending this page to include a note under the “Side Slam” section stating, “Bryan Beal of Berkeley Heights Township Wrestling performs a version called The Beal Bomb.” Neither this wrestler (Bryan Beal) nor the promotion (Berkeley Heights Township Wrestling) hold any form of notoriety in professional wrestling; searching for both “Bryan Beal wrestler” and “Berkeley Heights Township Wrestling” in popular search engines yields no results. This is clearly someone trying to amend the article to include their name to show off to friends or something. I’ve removed the reference a number of times now, and each time it is reverted. The latest reversion even admits the above (“BK Heights Township wrestling is a local house show.”) A local house show does not, to me, seem to satisfy Wikipedia’s requirements of notoriety and therefore warrant inclusion in the article. I've seen this editor's work on multiple occasions at New Page Review. Has created 208 pages, none deleted, more than 3/4 of them B-class. I'm concerned that many of the articles on lifeboat stations don't meet GNG. After looking at a random sampling of them, most of them cite the Lifeboat Enthusiasts Society (of which Martin states they are a member of on their talk page), which appears to be an WP:SPS, and The Lifeboat, a publication of the RNLI, which is not an independent source. voorts (talk/contributions) 03:15, 13 January 2025 (UTC)
@Voorts I would have thought the same thing when I first encountered these articles, but there are several independent published sources on these lifesaving stations. Whenever I've done a BEFORE search on one, I always find GNG-qualifying sourcing. This came up in an AfD for one of Ojsyork's creations last year (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bamburgh Castle Lifeboat Station), which resulted in a "keep". The criteria for giving autopatrolled are that the articles need to be 'nearly perfect'. One way to improve the English in your article is to nominate one of your articles at WP:GOCE, and learn from the mistakes that are corrected. In May 2024, Clovermoss gave me a three-month trial of the NPP permission, and I got the reviewer barnstar in that month's backlog drive. I sparingly used AFD and CSD during my reviewing, but that is mostly because when I found deficient articles, I spent the time to make them passable, rather than sending them for draftification/deletion. When I did propose content for deletion, I generally received community consensus to do so. I am seeking the permission for permanent use, but another trial works too! Recently active back at RM for the past three months after being extremely active many years ago. I was brought to MR twice in 2013 & 2015 and in both cases my closure was endorsed. I have !voted recently in most of the recent months of MR and always aligned with consensus. Spent the last three months getting reacquainted with the changes in policy and approaches to RM's and have started to perform some closures. Currently I'm avoiding some NAC because I am not really a fan of using TR because what I've found is that the admin who does perform the TR ends up doing all of the busy work (post move cleanup). IMHO the closer should perform the dirty work of cleaning up the move, and I'm happy to do so. I would see myself closing more discussions if the bit was available. That is the reason for the low number of current TR/G6, but you can see the frequency I previously require those tools prior to a wikibreak over at my CSD log. For me the bit is not about hat collecting, but rather simply because I'm getting back involved in Wiki (due to life-schedule changes) and as a formerly trusted and well-reputed RM-NAC, these tools would make more closures with follow-on work accessible. I understand that now and have come back with hopefully having reverted obvious and blatant vandalism more consistently over the past month. As always, I assume good faith, and when it comes to recent changes, if I see something that I'm not quite sure is vandalism or not, I won't undo it. I am well-versed in the different warning templates and when to use each one, and I know when it is appropriate to report to WP:AIV. Hello, I have been working on counter-vandalism with RedWarn for a while now. Despite my inconsistent and relatively low edit count compared to other requesters, I believe I would be a good fit. I approach CV with the idea that it is better to have somebody with malicious intentions get away with their behavior than it is to accuse an innocent person of Vandalism. I aim for high accuracy over total reverts. I have made mistakes in the past but I am usually quick to notice and fix them. Hi. I would like to request the rights to edit certain templates, such as the {{piechart}} template and its associated module, important when its usage increases. I want to have these rights in advance so I can apply fixes when needed.

I am already a sysop on pl-wiki and an interface admin on several wikis, including meta-wiki. See more on my page: User:Nux.

In real life, I am a library systems programmer with professional experience in WCAG and hold a certificate in web accessibility, which is useful for certain aspects of template development (colors, structure). I also work on gadgets and CI/CD scripts, such as Wikipedia:Wikiploy, which, while less relevant to templates, demonstrates my programming experience — an important skill for working with Lua modules.

    On Feb. 12, 2005, I did a random pages survey. Out of 100 random pages, only 1 was a U.S. town. That's progress. Three towns in the UK, 1 in Spain and 1 in Portugal also turned up. Overall biographies were the largest category at 22%, followed by geography with 15% total. Then Lists at 7%, Disambiguation pages at 6%.

    On Feb. 24, 2006, I repeated the 100 random page survey, this time getting 5 U.S. towns. Overall, geography had 26%, biography 21%, fiction 9%, music 4%, colleges 4%, lists 3% and disambigs 4%. Clearly geography and biography are our largest areas. Music, science and business scored less than I expected. Non-individual History was hardly discernable.

    Even by Feb. 2005, 100 out of almost 500,000 was not statistically significant but was as much as I had patience for.
